Over the last two years, I have discovered several tricks to make Power BI a financial reporting tool. It gives your managers access to financial information, on a “real-time” basis. It changes the delivery method from "push" to "pull". It allows them to filter by dates, types, and entities. IT can give you measures that highlight key metrics. It also offers drill-down from a summary number to the transaction details.
